Position Summary
Join this Prestigious Hospital’s dedicated team by providing high-quality imaging services in a supportive outpatient setting. Under the supervision of the Radiology Administrator, the Radiologic Mammography Technologist performs routine and specialized radiologic procedures with professionalism and care.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and position patients for radiologic procedures, ensuring accuracy and safety.
  • Produce quality diagnostic and mammographic images and verify completeness.
  • Assist radiologists during procedures when needed.
  • Operate, maintain, and perform quality assurance on imaging equipment.
  • Adhere to radiation safety protocols for patient, self, and others.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as patient check-in, film/image processing, and documentation.
  • Communicate results with radiologists and physicians, including wet reads.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Participate in cross-coverage at other outpatient sites as needed.
  • May serve as instructor or preceptor for training purposes.
 
Schedule & Work Conditions
  • Full-time, evenings: Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM–6:00 PM
  • May include coverage on holidays, overtime, or alternative shifts
  • Rotation to other outpatient sites based on operational needs
 
Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required
  • Training: Graduate of accredited Radiography or allied health program
  • Licensure/Certifications:
    • NY State DOH Licensure or Limited Permit required
    • ARRT certification (RT) required
    • BLS Certification (AHA) within 90 days of hire
    • Advanced Mammography Certification preferred (or within 1 year of hire)
  • Experience:
    • Completion of 40 hours mammography training
    • Minimum of 25 supervised mammograms during orientation
    • Must maintain 24 CE credits every two years and 15 CEUs in mammography every 36 months
    • Participation in ACR Image Gently & Image Wisely programs required during onboarding

  • Ability to remain standing or walking 85% of the time

  • Operate medical equipment and computers continuously
  • Must detect and respond to emergency signals at all times
