The Role We are recruiting an experienced and motivated Children’s Home Manager to lead a well-established and fully functioning 6-bed EBD children’s home in Cumbria. The home benefits from a strong Deputy Manager, a stable and skilled staff team, and a supportive senior leadership and quality team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an existing Registered Manager or an experienced Deputy Manager ready to step up into registration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operation of the children’s home
  • Ensure compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Ofsted SCCIF
  • Promote high-quality, trauma-informed and therapeutic care
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people
  • Lead, develop and support the staff team through supervision and appraisal
  • Maintain accurate records, care plans and quality assurance systems
  • Work effectively with families, professionals and external agencies
  • Manage staffing, rotas, budgets and resources effectively
  • Prepare for and manage Ofsted inspections confidently
Essential Requirements
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (England) – essential
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (Residential Childcare)
    (or willingness to enrol immediately)
  • Significant experience working in EBD children’s residential settings
  • Previous experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, legislation and Ofsted requirements
  • Confident leadership and decision-making skills
  • Full UK driving licence
