šŸ” About the Organisation I’m recruiting on behalf of an established and growing supported accommodation provider delivering high-quality services for young people transitioning into independence.
The organisation currently operates an Ofsted-registered supported accommodation service in Greater Manchester.Ā The service has a stable, on-site staffing structure, including Senior Support Workers and Support Workers.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the organisation at a key stage of growth, with planned expansion across Lancashire and Greater Manchester.
šŸŽÆ The Role This opportunity is suited to an experienced and confident Registered Service Manager with a clear understanding of what good and outstanding look like in an Ofsted-regulated supported accommodation service.
You will take full operational responsibility for the service, ensuring it is well-led, compliant, safe, and consistently delivers high-quality outcomes for young people.
You will be accountable for:
  • Regulatory compliance
  • Safeguarding and quality of care
  • Leadership and development of the staff team
  • Service performance and outcomes
  • Creating and embedding strong culture and standards
  • Inspection readiness, audits and quality assurance
  • Driving continuous improvement
šŸ›  Key Responsibilities As Registered Service Manager, you will:
  • Provide strong leadership and oversee the day-to-day operational management of the service
  • Ensure full compliance with Supported Accommodation Regulations and Ofsted requirements
  • Lead on safeguarding, risk management and incident oversight, ensuring concerns are acted on promptly and appropriately
  • Ensure young people receive high-quality, person-centred support that promotes independence, safety, education, training and employment
  • Maintain high standards across care planning, support planning, key work and recording
  • Drive quality assurance activity, including audits, learning reviews and action plans
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with local authorities, commissioners and partner agencies
  • Ensure robust supervision, training, performance management and staff development
  • Manage staffing rotas to ensure safe and consistent support at all times
  • Ensure the service environment is safe, welcoming and well maintained
āœ… What We’re Looking For This role is not suitable for someone new to regulation. Candidates must demonstrate:
  • Proven experience managing an Ofsted-regulated supported accommodation service
  • Strong understanding of Ofsted expectations, including what Grade 1 (Outstanding) and Grade 2 (Good) look like in practice
  • Strong safeguarding knowledge and confidence managing complex risk and multi-agency working
  • A proven ability to build strong teams and raise standards
  • A calm, confident leadership style with clear accountability
  • Excellent organisational skills, documentation standards and attention to detail
  • A genuine commitment to supporting care-experienced young people into independence
šŸŽ“ Essential Qualification:
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (or working towards, with significant sector management experience)
