Lead Veterinary Nurse – A Rare Balance of Clinical Work and Leadership
📍 Supportive team | Beautiful setting | £30,000 – £33,000 DOE | 40-hour week | 1:7 Saturdays
Are you a dedicated and experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse looking for that next step in your career? Do you love clinical work but feel ready to take on a leadership role where you can help shape the team and make a meaningful impact? If so, this could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.
We’re currently looking for a Lead Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly and talented team. This is a dual role that blends clinical excellence (around 60%) with leadership and management responsibilities (around 40%), offering a rare and rewarding balance that allows you to keep your hands in nursing while stepping into a truly influential position.
🩺 What You’ll Be Doing – Clinical Leadership at Its Best
You’ll be working alongside a skilled and supportive team of around 6 nurses and 4 vets each day in a well-equipped, modern practice with a welcoming atmosphere. Your clinical time will be spent doing what you love — providing high-quality nursing care, supporting consults and procedures, and mentoring your team through example.
Whether it’s inpatient care, anaesthesia monitoring, surgical prep, or assisting in consults, you’ll be fully involved on the floor, playing an essential role in keeping the day running smoothly and ensuring the highest standards of care are met across the board.
🧠 Leadership and Management – Be the Driving Force Behind the Team
Outside of your clinical work, you’ll be an integral part of the leadership team, responsible for helping to guide, support, and develop our nursing staff. This part of your role will include:
🌿 What You’ll Bring to the Role We’re looking for someone with strong clinical skills and the confidence to lead, but just as importantly, someone with warmth, empathy, and a real interest in supporting others. You’ll thrive in a role that mixes variety with responsibility and enjoy working collaboratively with both the nursing and veterinary teams.
Key qualities we’re looking for:
🐾 Ready to Lead With Heart? This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven RVN who wants to combine their clinical passion with meaningful leadership. Join us and help shape the future of a team that values kindness, clinical excellence, and collaboration.
