NEW Night Veterinary Surgeon role – 7 On / 14 Off – Independent Practice in Cardiff - Up to £75,000

Location: Cardiff
Schedule: 7 Nights On, 14 Nights Off (7:00 PM – 8:30 AM)
Salary: Up to £75,000 DOE

This is a rare opportunity to work in a well-equipped, independent practice where you can truly make an impact, all while enjoying a 1:2 working rota — that’s just 17 weeks of work per year!

You’ll be joining a close-knit, dedicated team who value quality, collaboration, and compassion.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Perform thorough clinical assessments and diagnostics
  • Carry out emergency and routine surgeries, confidently working sole charge overnight
  • Monitor anaesthesia and ensure patient safety during procedures
  • Prescribe medications and develop tailored treatment plans
  • Communicate effectively and compassionately with pet owners
  • Collaborate with our skilled nurses and support team to provide comprehensive care
  • Maintain detailed medical records in line with best practices
  • Commit to ongoing professional development and CPD
What We’re Looking For:
  • MRCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon with 2+ years UK clinical experience
  • Confidence working sole charge during night shifts
  • Strong clinical skills in both medicine and surgery
  • Excellent communication and decision-making abilities
  • Compassionate, calm, and committed to high standards of patient care
  • Knowledge of in-house lab diagnostics (advantageous)
