Registered Veterinary Nurse – Small Animal & Exotics Practice - Hertfordshire - Up to £32,000 per annum
We are seeking two motivated Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs) to join a thriving, first-opinion practice that delivers hospital-level standards of care. The role is based primarily at our main branch, with occasional shifts at a second branch just ten minutes away—both easily reached by public transport.

- Hours: 4–5 days per week, rota’d between 08:00 and 19:00
- Weekends: Saturday mornings 08:00–12:00 on a 1:3 / 1:4 rota (no Sundays or out-of-hours)
- Salary: Up to £32,000 per annum, commensurate with experience
- In-Patient Care: Monitor, medicate, and nurse medical and surgical patients through every life stage, with particular attention to exotic and avian husbandry needs.
- Anaesthesia & Theatre: Induce, maintain, and recover patients under general anaesthesia; assist in surgical procedures; perform schedule-3 tasks where competent.
- Laboratory & Diagnostics: Run biochemistry, haematology, microscopic exams, and assist with imaging—ensuring swift, accurate results for the clinical team.
- Nurse Consultations: Conduct post-op checks, weight clinics, puppy and kitten talks, and exotic husbandry consults, providing clients with clear, compassionate advice.
- Dispensary & Stock Control: Prepare prescriptions, liaise with suppliers, and maintain an efficient pharmacy.
- Client Communication: Explain treatment plans, cost estimates, and aftercare instructions in person and over the phone, maintaining the highest standards of customer service.
- Team Contribution: Mentor student nurses, share best practice, and play an active role in practice meetings, audits, and clinical governance.
