Theatre Team Lead (SFA Qualified) - Private Hospital - Up to £50,500 - Kingston Upon Thames

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Theatre Team Lead to join our dynamic Theatres team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining a high standard of professional practice and clinical care. Collaboration with the theatre team is essential to foster a positive working environment and uphold a supportive learning atmosphere within the operating department
 
Theatre Team Lead (SFA Qualified) Description –
Clinical
  • Expert autonomous practice in scrub techniques.
  • Maintain and monitor care standards, ensuring safe practices.
  • Act as a clinical role model and promote excellence.
Managerial
  • Lead and manage the scrub team and equipment.
  • Support departmental operations in Theatre Manager’s absence.
  • Recruit and support new team members.
  • Maintain equipment with external partners.
  • Plan workload and team skill mix.
  • Facilitate and manage change.
  • Handle conflict and enhance team dynamics.
  • Initiate audits and research-based practices.
Governance
  • Work within professional and legislative frameworks.
  • Conduct audits, research, and QA programmes.
  • Manage incident reporting and follow-ups.
  • Protect patient confidentiality and manage risk.
Team Role
  • Supervise and mentor junior and new staff.
  • Develop and manage clinical protocols.
  • Facilitate clear team communication.
  • Manage stock and resource expenditure.
  • Support staff learning and interdisciplinary development.
  • Promote cultural sensitivity and inclusivity.
  • Ensure safe and hygienic working environments.
  • Escalate issues with Theatre Manager where necessary.
Administration
  • Responsible for rota generation and workforce planning.
 
Theatre Team Lead (SFA Qualified) Qualifications:
  • RGN or ODP
  • Post-reg. course relevant to Theatres
  • Degree or Diploma in Nursing/Healthcare
  • Teaching and assessing qualification
  • Evidence of CPD
  • Recognised Surgical Skills course
  • 5 years post-registration
  • 2 years senior-level scrub experience
  • Team/change management
  • Budget/finance knowledge
  • HR policy understanding
