The Role: Diverse, Fulfilling, and Engaging As a general RVN, you’ll play a key role across many areas of the practice, with responsibilities that include (but are not limited to):
- Monitoring and assisting with general anaesthetics and surgical procedures
- Providing inpatient care including nursing plans, pain management, and recovery support
- Running nurse consultations – from post-op checks and parasite treatments to weight clinics and preventative care advice
- Admitting and discharging patients with clarity, empathy, and professionalism
- Supporting reception with client communication, telephone queries, and front-of-house duties
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment in line with infection control protocols
- Assisting with stock control, equipment maintenance, and contributing to the smooth running of daily operations
- Option to support and mentor student nurses or junior team members depending on experience
Working Hours & Weekend Rota
This is a full-time position of 38.5 hours per week, made up of:
- 2 long days
- 2 half days
- 1 shorter day finishing at 5pm
- Saturday: Morning consults until 1pm, then on-call for evening surgery (5–6pm)
- Sunday: Emergency consult hour (9:30–10:30am), followed by on-call cover until 6pm
Salary & Benefits
